Motivational Monday

“The best way to get somewhere is to put one foot in front of the other and move forward.

IMG_0627fbThe crazy thing about being stuck is that it doesn’t have to be permanent. For example, mud dries and eventually can be shaken off.  Yet, for nine months I’ve felt buried, weighed down and stuck.  As summer came to an end last September, the boy’s senior year began and Joshie became much more verbal as well as mobile and inquisitive, I began to let go of writing.  I even attended a writer’s conference in November to challenge myself to write more.  But I didn’t.  I wrote less, including in my journal.  There is no real explanation, just a bunch of excuses that have kept me in a muddy place, going nowhere.  But it’s time to move forward, step out and shake off the dirt.

So, without further adieu, I begin again.

It may be late Monday afternoon, but one can always use a shot in the arm to get motivated, right?IMG_0868fb

Last month ended a grueling thirteen week class I mistakenly thought I’d participate in to support my sisters called, “Changes that Heal” by Henry Cloud.  Funny how pride blinded me to the reality that there are multiple places in my own life that need to change…

(More on that another day.  It wouldn’t be very motivating today!)

The class may be over but the relationships that have begun to develop as a result of each bearing their soul weekly will last a lifetime, I believe.  It was freeing to be able to open up to them and trust they weren’t gossiping, judging or looking down condescendingly at me because they, too, were trusting the rest of us with their own junk.

Each morning as I sit on my bed, reading and talking to Daddy, I think of these ladies and occasionally I’ll send a group text to them. Today’s word went like this–perhaps you’ll be motivated by these words as well-I’m sure they won’t mind me sharing it here:

“Good Monday morning, sisters!  It’s a “No FEAR” challenge day!  How differently will we live out our TODAY if we focus our attention on the One that overcame death, hell and the grave?  He lives in us and we are His-fear has no room to speak, no room to even breathe down our necks because the God of the universe is Alive in each of us!

I am jumping out of the boat today as opportunities arise and walking hand in hand with Jesus.  Would you join me?  Would you agree that we are the fearless ones and He is absolutely crazy about us walking with Him on the water!

Let’s do this today!

Love you girls!

Proverbs 16:20.”

Getting up and beginning the day, the first thing I noticed was, after being sick for over five weeks, how crazy messy this house was.  So, picking up the broom, I swept…and swept, and mopped, and folded and listened and engaged in the moment. I fearlessly IMG_0010fbchose to believe that the mundane tasks of laundry, washing my floors and caring for my family was important to Jesus.

Do you see yourself as fearless?  How differently would your day look if you told yourself, out loud, that you are FEARLESS because you are a child of God, loved and cherished by Jesus Christ?  Try it and send me a comment letting me know how it felt to say those words out loud.  I’d love to hear from you.  If someone you know would benefit from knowing there’s no need to fear ANYTHING, pass this along or send them the link!
