It’s a New Year with A New Mindset

“When you’re 20 you care what everyone thinks, when you’re 40 you stop caring what everyone thinks, when you’re 60 you realize no one was ever thinking about you in the first place. You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, some time in your life.”  ~Winston Churhill

As you may or may not know, I made a decision last week to close down my Facebook account permanently because I could no longer support a platform that continues to censor every post it does not agree with.  To complain about it but not take action felt conflicting to me so I chose to finally be done with it.  It feels like the removal of a sliver from my hand that, up until it comes out, I ache.  Now that the moment is coming (as soon as my files are finally downloaded so as to save the history of all I’ve shared), I feel that the pain will be gone.  I will delete it forever and move on.

Sometimes, we must do the hard thing to be free.  My voice will not be silent.  I promise that.
