Change

There’s been no activity on this blog since last October…oh my, that’s ridiculous!  Yet, because I was LIVING in the moment, there was little time to think about writing. Learning to adjust took all the energy I had!

Our life took a swift right turn back in September, in ways I’m not sure I could have dreamed of.  I’m not complaining because we are just conduits in the hand of the Almighty, but I will say it’s been a stretching time.

As you may know, Jef’s dad lives with us now and we are thrilled for him to be in warmer weather and with us!

The same week my father-in-law arrived, my Love went out-of-town and because I’d waited for two years for a dog, we discussed getting our ‘forever friend’ the week he would be gone.

Sir Winston was rescued two days before dad came and these two have been buddies ever since!

Later this year, we were able to get away. Well, kinda!

The garden went kapoot because I was in NY for three weeks, but I was able to save seeds!

Then, in October, I resurrected Designs by Daune, stretching myself to include crocheting.  I thoroughly enjoyed making beanies for Christmas.

When dad came, I had to discuss putting the brakes on the Airbnb because this was a new season and I was just one person!  So, instead of strangers occupying the bedrooms every weekend, we moved back into our large bedroom and a brother from our church was looking for a room to rent.  It was a perfect fit!  He joined us on Christmas morning as a family member.

Jef’s younger brother flew down to see his dad for Christmas; his first trip to SA.  What a gift to us all to see him.

Oh, the changes that came in September are still reverberating, but  Life is settling and I’m beginning to see the rainbow after last year’s storms.

I’m in a season of building inventory, teaching photography and taking risks to speak wherever God opens the door.

Change can be very difficult.  I’m learning to lean into the love of God for me, embracing the moments and enjoying my days, magnificent and mundane~

Here’s to a new season of sharing life right here!
